Accuracy of God's Word

More accurate than any other history book, the Bible contains the history of the world from when the world literally began (Genesis 1:1 - in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth). It even contains facts about future events - all the way to the end of time.

All history books, save the Bible, will or have been proven to have errors, every one of them. That is simply because they are written by humans, and as human beings we cannot know everything that happened as fact, especially if we were not eyewitnesses of it. But the Bible is different, it was written by men directly inspired of God; so really, God wrote it. It's God's word. Most history books contradict each other at one or more points, again, because of the fact that we are, indeed, human. But the Bible doesn't do that. The Bible contains 66 books, written by over 40 people, over a course of about 2000 years, and nothing in the Bible contradicts something else in the Bible. That is just the internal proof of the accuracy of the Bible. What about the archaeological proof?

Over the centuries, Old Testament stories have been related and read. So much so that many were counted as ere fiction, just as stories, nothing more, and finally they were not counted as historically accurate. But recently, many discoveries have been found that prove the Biblical events as true, not as fiction. For example, discoveries unveiling evidence outside of the Bible that kings like David, Solomon, Uzziah, Jehu, Joash, Menehem, and Hezekiah were real kings of Judah and of Israel. Things such as inscriptions on rock, not only in modern day Israel, but also Egypt and the other surrounding countries have been found that give evidence to the real reign of these kings.
One cool discovery proving the accuracy of the Bible deals with the defeat of Jericho. Such evidence states that the walls actually did fall outwards, instead of inwards, which is usually what happens to a wall when an invading army knocks it down. The story in the bible speaking of the defeat of Jericho states that the people walked around the city, blew their trumpets, yelled, and the wall fell. The evidence that it fell outwards instead of inwards is strange indeed to those who do not take the Bible as a historically accurate document.

That was only two examples of the always growing, already large number, of external archaeological proofs for the Bible. Many more interesting discoveries are being found all the time that clearly point to the truthfulness and accuracy of the Bible. The Bible really is the historically accurate word of God.

Do Evolution and Human Beings contradict?

Believe it or not, this typed section below equals a written page. Doesn't look like it does it? lol.

I originally wrote this for my Journey book (in an AWANA club), but I liked it, so I wanted to share it. The topic is "why humans have souls and spirits, how we got them, and why we are superior to plants and animals." But I titled it "Do Evolution and Human Beings contradict" because if you believe that evolution is true, then you must believe that we evolved from animals, and therefore that we are nothing but animals. But if you realize that we are eternal beings, then you see that it contradicts the theory of evolution. Hope that makes sense. :) And I hope you like it.

God created all nature, the water, the land, the sky, the trees, the plants, the grass; God created all animals, birds, sea creatures, land animals, insects; then God created man. Human beings are different from nature and animals in many ways, but the most important is that we were created in the image of God. "And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness..." (Genesis 1:26a) By creating us like unto Himself, God separated us from all the rest of His creation. Then He said "...and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." (Genesis 1:26b) Giving us dominion over all of His creation was God's way of saying that we are special, we are greater than the rest of His creation.

"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breathe of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7) Being created in the image of God doesn't mean that we look like Him, it means that we have some (but not all) of the same attributes He does. Such as the ability to perceive beauty, understand emotions, and to tell right from wrong. But more importantly, we are eternal, unlike the animals, we will live forever. When animals and plants die, they cease to exist, but when a human being dies, he or she will go to heaven or hell depending on what choice they made during their life here on earth.

A Butterfly

Hey y'all! Earlier today I found this butterfly outside. And as a lot of you know, I LOVE butterflies! And it was staying so still! So I crept up, laid down on the ground, slowly brought my camera closer to it, thinking it's going to fly away at any moment (Wonder how many times I've done this? Don't ask.), just trying to get one picture...and what happens? He doesn't move.

I take a few pictures, very excited that the butterfly is actually staying still, but then I wonder...why is it not moving? hmm? I tap the ground, hoping to scare it away so that I can know that the poor thing is not dead, and it jumps and rolls over! Okay, I know it sounds weird, like, maybe kind of like a dog...but not that kind of rolling, it like, fell over. After that, it got back up, and just stood there. Looking at it for a while, I saw that one of it's wings was torn, pretty badly too. Poor thing, probably got attacked by a bird but heroically escaped with it's life!

Okay, maybe not. But still, it was obviously hurt, and wasn't going to be moving anytime soon. I don't even know if it could fly. But anyways, since it wasn't going to move, and I don't know how to help butterflies even if there is anything you can do for them, I took pictures of it. And man, I got some cool ones! Here are some (most possibly??? hehe)...

*He was on the green thing first, then when I scared him, he fell off (only about an inch at the most) onto the concrete. Sorry little guy!*

A few hours later, it was still there, so I brought it some sugar water on a plate. I don't know if butterflies would even drink it, or if this one has, but its still out there, and I'll check it in the morning.

Contradictions in Scripture?

Have you ever been reading your Bible, and you come across a passage that you know contradicts another? Or have you heard a child's Bible being read, and it had a different story than what you've read in the Bible you have? I have.

Are there contradictions in Scripture itself?

I do not believe so, and here is why:

1. ALL scripture is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16)
2. ALL true prophecies about Jesus came true
3. It was written by over 40 different people
4. It was written over a very long period of time

Now we shall look a little at these four things...

1. ALL Scripture is God-breathed

Scriptural backup: 2 Timothy 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (For a bit more study of this verse, see part nineteen of my 2 Timothy Study).

God breathed it! The whole thing is His Word! And God cannot lie or contradict Himself. (Titus 1:2 - In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.)

2. All true prophecies about Jesus came true

For example:

Isaiah 53:4 - Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried out sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Compared to:

Matthew 8:17 - That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias (Isaiah) the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

3. It was written by over forty different people

Moses
David
Isaiah
Ezekiel
Hosea
Joel
Amos
Obadiah
Matthew
Mark
Luke
John
Paul
Peter
James

Just to name a few!

4. It was written over a very long period of time

From the time of Moses till the time of Paul, that's a very long time! I'm not sure how long, but I know, a few thousand years!

So what kind of "contradictions"* are there? I have personally found one, and I have heard of another, I'll write both down here:

1. The death of Judas Iscariot

(Keep in mind! No one knows exactly what happened, so we don't know for sure. These are just educated guesses, or, in my case, just guesses.)

Matthew 27:5 - And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

Acts 1:18 - Now this man (Judas Iscariot) purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

So here, we have two "contradictions"*.

1. Did he throw down the silver in the temple or did he purchase a field with it?

Both! He bought the field, then threw down his payment.

2. Did he hang himself or did he fall and burst open?

Both! He hung himself on a tree that was hanging over a cliff (the normal thing to do back then, or so I've read) and when he, uh, his body, was, well, decapitated, or in regular English, had his head disconnected from the rest of his body, he kinda, well, fell, and uh, "burst asunder". *shudder* gross.

No contradiction there!

2. The Withered Fig Tree

Mark 11:12-22 - 12And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: 13And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 14And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. 15And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; 16And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple. 17And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. 18And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine. 19And when even was come, he went out of the city. 20And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. 22And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Compared to:

Matthew 21:18-20 - 18Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered. 19And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. 20And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

Here we have one "contradiction"*:

Did the fig tree wither away right before their eyes, or did it wither away while they were gone, and then they saw it when they came back by it in the morning?

On this one, I am not really sure. A few different things could have happened.

"Presently" means soon, or immediately. So according to what we find in Mark, the fig tree withered away right before their eyes. But according to Matthew, Jesus commanded the fig tree to bear no fruit, and then they left before it happened. Now, you must be thinking, "one is wrong". But that is not possible! Both are correct, for both are the inspired word of God, and God doesn't lie, or forget what happened! So what did happen? I don't know. But my only guess would be that the fig tree started to wither while they were there, and then when they came back the next day, it was completely dead. But I am not sure. What do you think?

Have you found any "contradictions" in scripture? Have you figured out why both (or more) are true? For they must be true, no matter how much they seem to "contradict".

God never lies. Nor does He forget. Nor does He contradict Himself. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, so we can trust it. It is the only book we can trust. It is the only map for life that we can trust. "His word IS truth!" (John 17:17)

Mowing the lawn for the glory of God!

Have you ever mowed the lawn on a Saturday morning, with the sun beating down on you, sweat running down your face, grass sticking all over your legs, flies and grasshoppers trying to jump in your mouth, nose, and ears; and thinking how cool it is inside, how nice water tastes, how you really want to be either back in bed or playing a video game? I have.

But that is when you cut the lawn mower, look up at the beautiful sky, listen to the birds singing, smell the freshly cut grass, (and hopefully not be tasting a grasshopper...) and realize how lucky you are to be outside on such a beautiful morning!

That is when you realize how great our God really is! Those are the moments that you just want to bow down with your face to the ground and worship God for making this wonderful world that we live in! Those are the moments when we wonder why we were having a bad attitude, when we wished we were in bed, when we wished we were sitting in front of the TV with a PS3 controller in our hands. Those are the moments when we don't notice how hot we are, we just feel the cool breeze. Those are the moments that we don't feel thirsty, we just feel a wonderful stillness, a glorious morning that most people were missing.

When we stop, look, and listen, we realize how wonderful, and glorious, and incredible our God is! We wonder why some people don't take the time to "stop and smell the flowers", we wonder why some people don't see, through God's creation, how wonderful, and glorious, and incredible our God really is!

But once the moment is over, and you realize you still have to mow the front yard after you finish the back, all those wishes come back. When you have to start the lawn mower again, and it breaks the silence and beauty of nature; when you are just counting the swipes of the weed eater until you can go inside, those are the moments when we recall to memory what the apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 10:31 - "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all for the glory of God."

That means, that no matter what you are doing, whether you are eating, drinking, playing cards, crocheting, hanging out with friends, or mowing the lawn; you are supposed to do ALL of it for glory of our Heavenly Father! How do you do that? I'm not a Bible scholar, and I'm not very good at guessing, but my guess is this: for example, when you're mowing the lawn, sing praises to Him, or pray. And while you are mowing, if someone passes on the sidewalk be sure to say hi and maybe even mention something about how beautiful the day is, who knows, you might be able to share Christ with someone! When you do something for the glory of God, anything is possible! or, when you are hanging out with friends, sing together, pray together, share your favorite Bible verse, talk about what God has been doing in your life lately. As Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 - "Pray without ceasing".

So get out there! Mow the lawn for the glory of God! I challenge you!

40 Facts about Giraffes!

Remember how I asked y'all, when I posted the movie with a giraffe giving birth, if y'all would like me to post facts about them? Well, a couple of you said yes, so, here it is!

Sadly, I couldn't find my old reports about giraffes that I did when I was younger, so, I had to go to the library. hehehe.

  1. Giraffes are the tallest animals in the world
  2. Adult giraffes can be up to eighteen feet tall!
  3. When born, baby giraffes can be as much as six feet tall!
  4. There are different kinds of giraffes, such as the Masai, Blotched, Southern, or Reticulated, the way they are different is the skin patterns. The two main groups are the Reticulated (the one most people see/think of, it and the Southern Giraffe) and Blotched.
  5. Female and male giraffes have horns
  6. Sometimes a giraffe grows two pairs of horns!
  7. Giraffes have very long tongues, they can be up to eighteen inches long! That's almost a foot and a half!
  8. Giraffes have very long necks to go with their very long tongues, their necks can be more than six feet long!
  9. They eat acacia leaves and flowers, acacia is a kind of tree.
  10. They have to spread their front legs out really far so that they can get their heads down to the water to drink.
  11. They sleep standing up, so that they can make a quick escape if a lion were to come sneaking up.
  12. A group of giraffes is called a herd
  13. They can run up to almost forty mph!
  14. The only animal that is related to the giraffe is the okapi, which looks more like a cross between a giraffe and a zebra.
  15. Giraffes live in peace with many animals, like zebras and antelope.
  16. A giraffe's pregnancy is sixteen months long!
  17. Unlike some other animals, such as chickens, the baby giraffes look very like their parents and relatives.
  18. When born a baby giraffe weighs about 130 pounds! (that's heavier than me!)
  19. Giraffes have the same number of vertebrae as we do (mice also!), theirs are just A LOT bigger!
  20. Like humans, no two giraffes look exactly alike!
  21. Giraffes, like cows, have four stomachs. yuck.
  22. Unlike many other animals, Giraffes stay in pretty small groups, only up to about fifteen giraffes normally.
  23. At about the age of three the male giraffes leave the heard and start mating!
  24. The guys fight over the girls! And most of the time, the loser moves away!
  25. A giraffe calf never knows his/her dad, before it is born the father moves away, never to come back.
  26. Giraffes are mammals.
  27. They live for around twenty-five years in the wild and way more in captivity.
  28. They have excellent eyesight, and, with their long necks, they can pretty easily spot a predator before it gets them, also, they can spot a human from more than a mile away!
  29. A giraffe's legs are not all the same length, the front ones are longer.
  30. Zebras, Gnus, Antelope, etc, love to graze with giraffes in the wild, because they know the giraffe will warn them if it spots danger.
  31. Giraffes are Herbivores.
  32. The predators of giraffes include lions, hyenas, and leopards.
  33. The same day it is born, the baby giraffe learns to run!
  34. Giraffe babies can grow as much as an inch taller in a day!
  35. They can sleep with their eyes open or shut! Creepy!
  36. A giraffe's heart can weigh as much as twenty-five pounds.
  37. Instead of a bath, the birds clean the giraffe! (It rhymes! I made it up. :))
  38. Giraffes have a kind of "nursery" set up, where, some of the female giraffes will watch the little ones, and the other moms will go eat.
  39. Most giraffes live in the wild, but a good amount of them are in captivity and/or in nature reserves.
  40. When born, a giraffe doesn't have horns, it has tufts of black hair that will eventually, as it gets older, get hard and are then called horns.

Isn't it amazing how well designed these animals are!?! I believe that God designed these creatures for His glory and for proof to us, that He is the one and only true God. How can you look at a giraffe and honestly say that you think it came about by random change, an accident. The giraffe was no accident! God designed it just like He wanted it! There are NO FLAWS in His creation! Is that not amazing to you? Tell me, and I will give you even more overwhelming proof of the Creator, my Creator, your Creator. He not only made the giraffe, but He made the ant, the lion, the fish, the squid, all the animals, the water, the air, the ground, the universe, and us. He made everything! And we need to praise Him, not His creation. Yes, His creation is wonderful, but let's not worship it. Does a customer praise the pot instead of the potter? Does the clay have power over the potter? No.

God is in control, we are His, His own, His special creation; but still His, under Him, not above Him.

Creation Face the Facts, #2

Problems with my blog???

Hi y'all. I was just about to start part 16 on the 2nd Timothy study, when I checked my traffic map. I thought, "wow, lots of people are getting on my blog, but why, why are they not commenting or voting on the poll, or anything to show that they are visiting? Why???"

I know that I may sound self-centered there, but it is hard to keep on posting when almost no people are reading. I know I have some faithful followers, and I thank y'all very much, you give me the push and encouragement I need to keep on posting.

But, why are most people not staying? Why are they leaving so soon? And maybe not coming back? What is wrong with my blog? It just clicked. It just clicked!

I am a Creationist. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I believe that He saved me from eternity in Hell. I believe that He created me. I openly and boldly admit my faith and beliefs on here. That is why! Most people do not believe in what I believe, most people believe in Evolution or some other random lie. Yes folks, it a lie. Creation by God is the only correct answer for the world.

I know I might lose some followers and readers from this, but I don't care (well kind of), God gave me the opportunity to start a blog, and, praise God, I am not going to deny Him on it. I am not going to use His blessings for useless and maybe harmful things. No. I refuse. I believe in God, I believe in Jesus Christ who is my Savior, I believe that God made the earth in six days, I believe. If you don't believe this, I'm sorry, hopefully, you will recognize Christ as your Savior before you die, so that I will meet you in Paradise.

I praise God for allowing me to have this opportunity to tell others about Him. Thank you for reading my blog. I pray for each and every one of you, that you are in the faith, and that you will profit from my writing. God bless!

Creation Face the Facts

Hi Y'all! Well, all week I have forgotten to post Face the Facts, Creation facts. Remember when I posted the Abortion Face the Facts in March? Well, this is the same thing but Creation facts. As last time, I will be posting them once a week. Enjoy! God bless!

What detail! Who could have made it?

Who could have designed this gorgeous flower? Who could have made this flower? And here's the big thing, who could have made this flower out of absolutely nothing? God did. He is so awesome! He made not only this flower, but every plant and animal in the world! And not only that, He made us, all of us! He made each of us unique, in His own image! How much better can it get?!?!

Now, just think about this for a second, if God is so powerful and awesome and wonderful and creative, then why don't we praise Him every time we see a beautiful flower, or tree, or animal, or even a human being? Why do some people ignore the fact that everything is so perfectly created? Why/how do some people think that everything came about by random chance?

I don't understand how some people can look at a human being and say that we evolved. Every part of our bodies is there for a reason, to serve a purpose. Yes, there are organs that you can live without, but they do serve a purpose. Trust me, I had to have my appendix removed, am I dead? Um, that's an obvious no. So, does it serve a purpose? Yes. How? How could it serve a purpose, yet you can live without it? Well, the appendix is the organ right before your large intestine, and "the cells within the appendix are the same kind of cells we find in the infection-fighting organ which specifically fights off infections of the large and/or small intestine."* So, it has cells in it that fight infection in the intestines, so what do you think it is good for? Fighting infections! But, there are other organs that fight off infections there too, so do we need it? Well, yes. It takes some of the load off of the other infection fighting organs, to make their work easier. But, we can live without it, because it is not the only organ doing that job.

So, back to my first question, "who could have made it?" I know I couldn't! I took the picture above, but I did not make the flower. People can paint a picture of a human being, but we can't make a real human being. "Who could have made it?" Who could have made you? God. He created you!!! Thank Him, love Him, worship Him. And always remember how much He loves you.

Pretty little Common Buckeye, just a small part of God's wonderful Creation!

After we spotted this butterfly, I watched it till it landed on this flower. It sat so still! I had enough time to take three pictures before it flew away! It was taking nectar out of the flower. In the picture below you can see it's tongue! God's creation never ceases to amaze me!

"What impresses you?"

This is a great topic that the Rebelution covered lately. After I read the article I had to post some here!

It starts off with this movie of a 6 year old girl, maybe the next Mozart...take a look:

Life

What is it? Do you ever even notice it is there? Is it common? Is it rare? Does it have rules? Is it by chance? Is it designed? Is it important? Do you ever ask these questions?

This is one way I let out stress, so just stay with me. :)

What is it? Dictionary.com defines LIFE as: the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.

Did you understand that or was it just me? Why can't they put it simply? I have no idea. That was the best one I found. What do you think of when you think of life? I think of living animals, plants, people, etc.

Do you ever even notice it is there? Do you SEE the life around you? When you go outside in the morning and you sit on the porch eating breakfast, what do you see? what do you hear? what do feel? I love listening to the birds, feeling the early morning breeze, etc. it is so beautiful and peaceful.

Is it common? Is it rare? I love how there are tiny, microscopic, little creatures in water. They are fantastic! They are so well designed! They are beautiful! If millions of microscopic creatures live in a tiny bit of water, how much life do you think exists on the earth? It is impossible to even try to imagine!

Does it have rules? Have you ever played the board game LIFE? It does not matter if you have or have not, you will probably be able to answer this question. Does it have rules? Of course! Any game that does not have rules does not work. Have you ever played tic-tac-toe without rules? I have, it is chaos! People are erasing, and writing over, and yelling, it is simply chaos! But why? Because there are no set rules, so all moves are legal. Life has rules, can a bumble bee sprout crocodile teeth if it wants too? Can a fish have an elephants trunk? No! God gave certain animals certain abilities, and set boundaries. He is in complete control over all.

Is it by chance? Is it designed? This question can be interpreted, Evolution or Creation, but I will not word it like that. If it was by chance, then nothing was created for a purpose, you were not created for a purpose, you are nothing, you are just a product of chance processes. If it is designed, then it was designed FOR a purpose, you were created for a purpose, you are something, you are important, you were made in the image of the creator!

Is it important? Is life important? Imagine a world without life, for a minute. No trees, no grass, no flowers, no animals, no people. Even the water would be dead, no microscopic creatures swimming about, not even algae. yuck. No life is pretty boring isn't it? Nothing happens, nothing moves, not even a breeze blows. Now imagine that all in one week, the world is filled with living creatures, everything from the tiny, microscopic water creatures to the people to the huge blue whale! Which picture did you like better? What if the creature at the bottom of the food chain went extinct, what would happen? Well, the creature that ate that creature would die out too, then what? Then the next creature would starve. And the next, and the next, and the next, until all life was gone. See, God designed everything perfectly, He designed certain animals to feed off certain animals so they would not go extinct. He made more of certain animals than others, because they were prey to more animals than others. There is a perfect balance.

How Great is our God!

We are always singing songs and reciting verses that say "how great is our God." Sadly most people don't know how great our God really is. Today my Mom found this site (here) that has a movie and some pictures on it about outer space. It is truly amazing! I could hardly believe my eyes and ears as I watched and listened. It really shows that it was wonderfully and carefully designed for His glory.
After the movie I became a firm believer in millions of years. Not the kinds of millions of years you are probably thinking of but the millions and billions of years that it would take to travel only a small amount of the outer space. :) And what is even more amazing is that we don't know of very much of the outer space, there is still so much more to be discovered. Isn't God so awesome!?!

2,000 Year old Earring

Israeli archaeologists have discovered a 2,000 year old earring dating back to the time of Christ! I am sorry I could not post the actual pictures, but you can click here to see the two pictures and read the article. Here is the first sentence:

"JERUSALEM — Israeli archaeologists have discovered a 2,000-year-old gold earring beneath a parking lot next to the walls of Jerusalem's old city, the Israel Antiquities Authority said Monday".

When my Mom showed the article to me one of the first things that went through my head was that if you had to say that it was either in support of evolutionism or Creationism, then I would say that it would be in support of the Creationists theory. If people way back to the time of Christ could make something so beautiful (just like some of the earrings made today) then why say that people 3 or 4,000 years ago or more were not just as smart? I love to see examples just like this, it shows even more that people were made "smart from the start". You can probably tell that from what I just said that I am a 110% Bible believing, Creationist. :)
