Dollar for a Drink is a non-profit organization headed by a teen named Joshua Guthrie, who's sole purpose is to raise money to dig wells and provide filters world wide for those that do not have clean water. Their promo video for their third year is really good! Please take a look.

VBS - Days 4 and 5, garage sale fundraiser, and more!
Hey Y'all! Sorry I didn't post the other days of VBS but I was so tired! Those kids just wore all of us leaders out. But that's good. :) I think they learned a lot and had fun, I know I did!
VBS went well, we had an average of sixty kids per night, and the last night I think we had about a hundred and thirty people total at VBS! That includes kids, workers, and parents. The last night we did our "Super Spacey Sundae" and that was fun! But sticky! So, after the kids and parents and most of the workers left, some of us stayed to help get the church back to it's normal look, I got to help with that, and it was a blast! I can't wait till VBS next year!
________________
The garage sale fundraiser went okay, we raised over $300 dollars so that was good. :) Some friends from Co-op came over to help part of the day both Saturday and Friday, so it's not like we were alone the whole time. lol. We are hopefully going to do another one in September or so. So, please be praying that we can raise more money for the well next time. :)

I figured out how to crochet around a hair rubber band! They are so cute! If anyone wants me to put a tutorial about it on here, let me know! :) They're super duper easy!

Don't forget about my giveaway! I thought I made it fun, but I guess y'all don't think so. lol. Even if you just get my blog emails, you can enter! And don't forget to tell your friends! No one has entered for the "digital giveaway" part, but I don't really blame you, there are a lot of other bloggers who are a lot better at that than me! lol.

VBS - Day 3 and a garage sale fundraiser
Thank you all for your prayers! Last night went quite well! Praise God we had 59 kids last night! And a bunch of parents came a bit early and got to see the ending activities, which was great! Also, I think that our visitors from the other church really enjoyed being there, and got a lot out of it.
The workers. That the kids would see Christ's light though our words and actions. The kids. That they would understand what we are trying to teach them, and that they would come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. The parents. That when they pick up their kids that they would see Christ's light through us in the was we speak and act, and that they also would come to know Christ. VBS as a whole. That it runs smoothly, and that we would be able to lead some kids (and maybe some adults too) to Christ.
I am so tired, but I love VBS so much I wouldn't miss it! It's hard to believe though, that the week is almost over. We only have two days left. Two days... wow. It seems like forever but then again it seems like not long at all. When you think about it, life isn't really that long. It's goes by in the blink of an eye. Or, as Casting Crowns put it: "I am a flower quickly fading. Here today and gone tomorrow. A wave tossed in the ocean. A vapor in the wind..." Life is precious and we need to use the time we have to the best of our ability. And we need to use that time, that precious time, to proclaim HIS glory!
Please keep praying for VBS, I'm just going to copy and paste what I wrote yesterday:
Thank you so much!

This weekend we are having another garage sale fundraiser! The last time we did this was 2008, so we are super excited to be doing it yet again! To see those posts please click here or in my labels click on "Family Project".
Please be praying that we would be shining lights to those that come, and that we would raise enough money to build yet another well for those who desperately need the clean water that is right below their feet out of reach.
I'm not sure of the all the details yet, so you'll probably get those tomorrow. :) We are doing the garage sale on Friday and Saturday.
In Christ alone,
Buttercup
P.S. I'll probably be started the James Study up again soon. Sorry I dropped it.

Project
Hi Y'all! I am going to undertake a big project! I think that God wants me to raise the money for a fully-equipped missionary vehicle for the native missionaries of Asia through Gospel For Asia (GFA). Here is what the site says on what it is,
A fully equipped vehicle—complete with an Indian-made film on the life of Christ, an LCD projector, generator, mobile public address system, Gospel tracts, Bibles and flip charts—is $21,000.
Yeah I know, $21,000. But, if God said do it, I can! So, do you want to help me??? You don't have to. :P Please get the word out! Direct people to my blog, where I will update! I think I will put this button on the sidebar, so you don't have to find the specific post. Since it is so much money, I am going to donate each month, whatever I recieve; so, it will probably not all go to one vehicle, but my goal still is $21,000!

Little Tait's Preemie fund
EDIT: They reached their goal!!!

Little Tait is a preemie baby that needs your help. I got this off of their website:
"My name is Tait Zimmerman Jr. and I am a little baby boy who, without the help of modern medicine, dedicated care and God's hand, would not be alive today! I was born 3 months before I should have been and am miraculously doing well today. I spent the first three months of my life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, cared for by some terrific doctors and nurses! Now my mommy and daddy have to get creative to pay the hospital, doctors and the whole team who took care of me. They have included a lot of information for you on this site about me, and our specific needs..."
Another way you can help Little Tait is by buying an art print from Brezzy on Etsy. She is donating $10 from every "Library" print order to the Little Tait fund. I got one, and I am glad I did! You can also put a button on your site to spread the word.
June 1st is the deadline for the art print. June 3rd is the deadline for the whole fund. They need about $600 more. Please consider helping. Thanks for reading!

Goal Reached!!!
We have reached our goal!! The well in Africa can now be built!! We are all so happy that we finished it before Christmas!! You can go to our page on the Ambassadors for Life website to see all of the people who contriputed to this project. In the list you will find people who not only gave money toward the project, but hard work, and their own time(especially Saturday mornings:). We had $400 left to raise, and we really wanted to get it done before Christmas so that next year we could start another well. Then Dad told his friends about it and two gave alot. One of them gave $800!!! So we are already on the way to the second well!!! God has really blessed this project. To God be the Glory!!!

Garage Sale Fundraiser
Well, we are having another garage sale this weekend to raise money for the well! If you don't know what I am talking about you can go down my first page to LABELS. There you can click: family project or fundraiser, and it will take you to some of the details of our last garage sale fundraiser. This will be our third fundraiser garage sale.
Like the first time, Mom is letting us have some friends spend the night Friday night. So they can help with the garage sale the next day. That will be so fun!
All of the proceeds are going toward the well. If you want, you can donate by going to our page on the Ambassadors for Life website. This time we are only doing a one day sale (all day) since we have our homeschool co-op on Friday morning. Please pray that we will make a lot of money!

Last Day
Well, yesterday was the last day of our fundraiser garage sale! It was so fun. We raised $722.56 this weekend! We are now have more than half of what we need to build the well! I am so excited! I was going to write this yesterday, but I was totally worn out from this weekend, like everyone else. After the garage sale yesterday we all jumped in the pool, that felt really good!
Thank you for your prayers! I think God has really blessed our hard work.

2nd Day
This is the second day of the garage sale(the first day we have had customers)! It went pretty smoothly. It was just HOT! The friend's house that we are doing it at, have a garage and a long driveway, but no trees. We just had to drink a lot of water! We are also doing the garage sale tomorrow, and I think tomorrow will be busier than today, since tomorrow is a Saturday.
I can't wait 'till tomorrow, I hope we make a lot of money toward the well.
It was so awesome to think, every time someone gave us a five dollar bill, that one person would have water for their entire life!

1st Day (sorting)
Well, today we were sorting everything that was donated to the garage sale. Which was mostly clothes. I thought we would never finish! But by the grace of God we did! We have around thirty good sized cardboard boxes absolutely full of clothes alone! Then of course we have two desks, a chair, a ton of books, lots of baby things(such as: a bouncer, a crib skirt, etc.), toys, kitchen items, craft supplies, fabric, electronics and more! Lots of people have donated these things, and I am so thankful! Well, tomorrow is the first day of the garage sale, and as far as I can see, everything is good. I just ask that you pray for success!

Getting Ready
Remember how I told you about our family project? Well, since it is this weekend we are working hard this week to make sure that all of the kinks are flattened out in time for the sale, we are hoping that everything runs smoothly. To make more money for the Well I am making some crocheted items to sell at the garage sale this weekend. I thought of the idea on Monday, so I have not had much time to make things but I am working on it:) I hope to make 20 headband, 10 round dish cloths and10 rectangular dish cloths, and if I have the time I am going to make a couple purses. My oldest, younger sister is making 18in. doll clothes, my mom is making coasters, and another sister of mine is making bracelets.
Today we are going to be working on our crafts and baking! For our last garage sale we had lots of baked goods and drinks to sell, and they sold pretty good, so we are going to make more for this garage sale. Please pray that we will be successful in this garage sale :)

Family Project
My family has a project for this year and hopefully for the years to come. We are raising money with Life Today International to build a well in Africa or Asia. We are doing garage sales to raise money, so far we have only done one garage sale, but this weekend we are doing another one. Other people around the country are doing different things to raise money to build other wells. You can go to www.ambassadorsforlife.org/leakefamily if you would like to donate to the well we are raising money for or you can go to www.ambassadorsforlife.org if you would like to start raising money to build another well.
I hope you will help us build this well that the people over there desperately need. Please consider helping us in our fight against death and disease.
