Hopelessness

His coat was tattered
Due to storms a plenty
Which had both come and gone
Throughout his short life.

His feet were not shod,
Never with peace,
But were bare and seemed
To say anything but solace.

They were calloused and hard,
Very much like his heart,
Because of early years of abandon,
Middle years of hurt, and now just much pain.

The physical pain
He had learned to endure,
But 'tis a hard lesson indeed
To learn how to cope with emotional.

His scars on the skin
He was forced to see everyday,
And they made his heart bleed
As memories flooded his being.

Not one good memory
Could he bring to his head
But only terrifying ones
He kept having to relive.

Memories of abandon,
Of hate, and not love,
Of pain, and not healing,
Of things below, not of above.

His scars grew deeper
With each passing day
And salted by all
Who passed on their way.

Once, he envied those
Who seemed never to have problems,
But because of their treatment
His envy turned to hate.

No one had ever loved him,
Never took his crying hands,
Never kissed his wet cheek
Just rubbed it in the sand.

His eyes, he was sure,
Would always be red
From all the tears he had cried
Upon many a bed.

His poor crying heart
After ages of sanding
Had become calloused hard
And now heeded not the grating.

'Twas believed that he possessed
Not one pliable area in his being
But sometimes one needs not soft,
For some things are able to crush through rock.

This man so poor, so lonely, so sad
Was so hopelessly lost 'twas thought
That there was no hope to be found
So no one thought twice.

Until a young child perceived
Not a man in torn clothes
Not the grumpy old face
Not the crooked and bent nose,

What that child saw, only he could say
For that day he saw a man in pain.
He saw a bleeding heart
He saw those red eyes.

He saw the pain, the hurt
And the rejection too,
And although the child understood not why,
He knew what he must do.

The child tore away from his mother
And ran to the pitiful man,
And without stopping
Ran straight into him.

He wrapped his arms around him
And squeezed him tight,
He said that Jesus loved him,
And that he would be alright.

The man in tatters was surprised
And very much embarrassed
But embarrassment didn't matter
For someone cared enough to notice him.

He hugged the child back,
As tears streamed down his face,
He then asked the child a question
Who was the Jesus who loved him?

The child explained as only a child can,
How the Son of God came and became a man,
He took all our sins in His body on the tree,
And then He died for you and me.

The man did not need anything more,
He had been so hopeless for so long,
This little glimmer of hope
Looked more like the shining of the sun.

Through the witness of a child,
This poor man's life was changed,
He was given hope when none could be found,
So can we not do the same?

If a child so small could give a simple hug,
Can we not love our neighbor?
And give them a hug when they are hurting?
And love them when they lose hope?

Through Christ we find the strength,
And love overflowing,
Enough to share with all the world,
Why are you not going?

Share the love with friends,
With family, with everyone around.
Let Christ so fill your life,
So through you Christ can be found.

Accuracy of God's Word

More accurate than any other history book, the Bible contains the history of the world from when the world literally began (Genesis 1:1 - in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth). It even contains facts about future events - all the way to the end of time.

All history books, save the Bible, will or have been proven to have errors, every one of them. That is simply because they are written by humans, and as human beings we cannot know everything that happened as fact, especially if we were not eyewitnesses of it. But the Bible is different, it was written by men directly inspired of God; so really, God wrote it. It's God's word. Most history books contradict each other at one or more points, again, because of the fact that we are, indeed, human. But the Bible doesn't do that. The Bible contains 66 books, written by over 40 people, over a course of about 2000 years, and nothing in the Bible contradicts something else in the Bible. That is just the internal proof of the accuracy of the Bible. What about the archaeological proof?

Over the centuries, Old Testament stories have been related and read. So much so that many were counted as ere fiction, just as stories, nothing more, and finally they were not counted as historically accurate. But recently, many discoveries have been found that prove the Biblical events as true, not as fiction. For example, discoveries unveiling evidence outside of the Bible that kings like David, Solomon, Uzziah, Jehu, Joash, Menehem, and Hezekiah were real kings of Judah and of Israel. Things such as inscriptions on rock, not only in modern day Israel, but also Egypt and the other surrounding countries have been found that give evidence to the real reign of these kings.
One cool discovery proving the accuracy of the Bible deals with the defeat of Jericho. Such evidence states that the walls actually did fall outwards, instead of inwards, which is usually what happens to a wall when an invading army knocks it down. The story in the bible speaking of the defeat of Jericho states that the people walked around the city, blew their trumpets, yelled, and the wall fell. The evidence that it fell outwards instead of inwards is strange indeed to those who do not take the Bible as a historically accurate document.

That was only two examples of the always growing, already large number, of external archaeological proofs for the Bible. Many more interesting discoveries are being found all the time that clearly point to the truthfulness and accuracy of the Bible. The Bible really is the historically accurate word of God.

Looking through your Belief System

A persons belief system can be described as a pair of glasses, because once they have built up a system of what they believe, and they know that what they believe is true, then they will look at everything through that belief system - through those glasses.

For example, when wearing some sun glasses, things will look a slightly different color - like from black to brown - to the person wearing the sun glasses, the object would most obviously be brown, but to the person without sun glasses, the object would most obviously be black. Both people are certain that they are right, but their interpretations contradict - one or the other must be wrong.

This is what happens when people's belief systems get in the way of their seeing scientific information (or any other information) clearly and unbiased. For many people, the idea of tossing their belief system out of the window to see clearly is absurd, and I agree, what you believe defines who you are. For me, and any other Bible believing Christian, we look at scientific information through the Bible, and this, I believe, is the right thing to do. Why? Because the Bible has been proved to be 100% true, so looking through the Bible at scientific information will not give us the wrong answer, ever, as long as we take what is not in the Bible impartially. Granted, I sound like I am contradicting myself. But I am not, for the Bible is 100% true - that is my belief, but it also has been proven. Evolutionists do not have that kind of backup. Their theories have not been proven, and cannot be proven.

Therefore I encourage you to see what kind of glasses you are looking through. Do your glasses deceive you into thinking something contrary to the truth/to what the Bible says? Are your glasses tinted so as to betray the truth for a lie?
