Poems by me

Hi! I had to do these for school so I thought I'd go ahead and share them with you. :)

George Washington

His country had chosen him,
Unanimously did they vote.
Though he dreaded to leave
His beautiful home,
His country called on him.

On that day so beautiful,
Dressed in homemade ruffles,
He took an oath,
To protect, defend, and serve his country,
The United States of America.

True Compassion

I was cold.
I was hungry.
It was snowing.
It was dark.
I was in need of compassion.

You let me in.
You made me warm.
You gave me food.
You showed me love.
That is true compassion.

I had sinned.
I had beaten you.
I deserved death.
I didn't deserve compassion.

You were perfect.
You were beaten.
You died in my place.
That is true compassion.
