Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Psalm 139
O Lord, you have searched me
and you know me.
Your know when I sit
and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out
and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely,
O Lord.
You hem me in -behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
Too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens,
you are there;
If I make my bed in the depths,
you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"
even the darkness will not
be dark to you;
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my
mother's womb.
I praise you because
I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
Wen I was woven together
in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your
thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber
the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.
If only you would slay the wicked
O God!
Away from me,
you bloodthirsty men!
They speak of you with evil intent:
your adversaries misuse your name.
Do I not hate those who hate you,
O Lord,
and abhor those who rise up
against you?
I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
Search me, O God,
and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way
everlasting.

Two Beautiful Psalms

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not be in want
He make me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He quides me in paths of righteousness
for his name sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
Iwill fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You propare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life.
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
Psalm 100
Shout for joy to the Lord,
all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us,
and we are his;
we are his people,
and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love
endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through
all generations.

Summer Fun in January

It's a nice day today, so Mom wanted us to go outside to play in the sunshine a little bit. It was warm enough, I thought, to play in the sprinkler. I also thought that all of my siblings would also enjoy it.
So, I got into a tee shirt, capris and a bathing suit cover-up, and ran outside to play in the sprinkler! Now, Mom had warned me that the water was going to be very, very cold. And I knew that, I just wanted to have a little slice of summer in January. Some of my siblings ran outside with me to play in the sprinkler. Then my little three year old sister thought that it was a little too cold, so she started crying and went inside. The cold water got to my little brother next, so he ran inside.
Before I knew it I was alone. The water was cold, I admit, but it was too much fun to let the cold water get to me! Over time, I got lonely and bored, so I too headed inside. Turned off the water, changed clothes, then wished that summer weather would come to warm up the water a little!

New Years Resolutions #1

I am going to try to update y'all on my New Years Resolutions once a month. I hope y'all will do the same, I think that this is a good way to keep up with our resolutions. Here is the first one: #1 have my room clean by every Friday night before I go to bed: I succeeded the first weekend, then not the second weekend, then I did it last night(I hope this does not turn out to be a pattern). #2 Read through the New Testament in a year: I have read the first few chapters of Matthew but I need to remember to do it everyday.

How are your New years Resolutions going??? I would love to hear from my readers! :)

New Years Resolutions

At about this time last year, I made a list of resolutions for 2008. Now, obviously, I did not understand what I was doing. I simply made a list of things that I wanted to do that year, such as: learning French. Now, let me tell you, I only learned one word in French, I learned it out of a Nancy Drew book.

All of my resolutions went about that way. So, this year, (since I have learned my lesson), I can decide my resolutions for 2009. This morning I thought that if I had rules to my resolutions then it would help me better decide what I should do, so here are my three rules to resolution making: #1- It has to be do-able in a years time, #2- It can't be so hard that I bail out in the middle, #3- It has to be something that I can catch up on if I miss a day. And the resolution has to meet at least 2 of the three rules.

So, here are my two 2009 resolutions: #1- to have my room perfectly clean every Saturday morning when I wake up, #2- to read through the New Testament section part of the Bible. During the year I will probably add a couple more if I am successful in conquering these.

So what are your 2009 resolutions? I would really like to hear about what you are trying to conquer this year. :)
